Monday Morning Inspirational Reminder

Just a reminder that everything in life is in flux. It can be so short or long, which is all pretty relative anyway, but it will last your lifetime (thats for sure). It can be mundane and simple. It can be beautiful and full of energy. Its so cliche, but OUR lives are what we make them. They are malleable and innerconnected. And sometimes thinking about it makes me so sad/happy, I can barely stand it. Makes you just want to eat up every little morsel of it. So make sure you have a few bites today.
On a lighter but tangential note I saw my first movie without subtitles in a theater yesterday. Have seen Amores Perros on my laptop without subtitles. But highly recommend El Infierno.

Autotuning the news is hilarious. From DJ UMB at Generation Bass Mars Volta teamed up with Calle 13 and made this rad song and video. I like the lyric, translated, “I make fun of gringos and get sponsored by Coca Cola”. After seeing Calle 13’s music videos, its no surprise that Calle 13 studied cinematography.

So I have a girlfriend!!! Her name is Mariana and she’s totally cool. I haven’t had a girlfriend since like sept of 2006 or something. So we’ll see how it works out, I’m prolly a little rusty on my BF skills. But the funny thing is that we both have the same birthday just different years. So zodiacally we are almost the same, which who knows how that can turn out. You know how i am about birthday parties, so hopefully she doesn’t mind huge parties where we do whatever i want to do.
I bought that bike I posted about last week. In the ends of the handle bars it has these lights that light up with it senses movement. Thinking about getting it painted or i could wrap it in reflective vinyl.
I am still not comfortable having a cleaning lady. Don’t get me wrong i totally love it. But the night before i must clean my room. Part of that is if i don’t put my stuff where i want it, then she hides it from me. But every week i have to fight the urge to to the dishes the night before. But the girls i live with have no problem letting stuff pile up for her. I used to think girls were cleaner to live with…maybe some. As some of you know, if someone else is cleaning, i like to jump in also, so i also have to resist that also. But i buy her mochas and pastries.

But i recent took a nice 10 day trip to chiapas and oxaca. First went to the ruins of palenque
And stayed in a hippie collectivo of Panchan
Then to the cascades of agua azul
Next to San Cristobal
I had to work, but my friends went to a cool Zapatistas village
Then to the beautiful playa of Mizunte, famous for the giant turtles
